This practical, online workshop with John Sharry will introduce parents to a strengths-based model for supporting your children and teenagers to manage anxiety and stress.

Topics include:

  • Understanding the sources of anxiety and stress for children
  • Co-problem-solving with children
  • Co-regulating and managing feelings of anxiety
  • Addressing underlying issues and changing the environment
  • Empowering children and building on their strength
  • This event is suitable for parents of all children and particularly those who might be autistic or neurodivergent.

Presenter Biography
Prof John Sharry is a social worker and family psychotherapist with over 30 years experience as a child and adolescent mental health professional. He is founder and clinical director of the Parents Plus Charity, an adjunct Professor at the School of Psychology in UCD and an Irish Times Parenting Columnist. He is the author of over 25 positive psychology, parenting books and mental health programmes, including the eight Parents Plus Programmes.
